Vintage Hungarian grain sacks have recently gained popularity for use in upholstery, soft furnishings and utility items. These grain sacks range in age from 50- about 100 years and come in varying sizes and with different coluoured stripes, indicating to whom they belonged. Many also have hand embroidered monograms. It is hard to think that so much work went into making sacks to carry grain and milled goods. The cloth is strong and the home loomed quality adds plenty of character.
